An internet enquiry that started by a visit to the UKdima web site led to this exciting project. When UKdima received an enquiry from Ireland about a project in Barbados, the initial response was that of surprise. This was quickly turned into a demonstration of wire sawing at UKdimas premises in Stirling with the Irish delegates flying into Scotland in the space of one week. The demonstration then quickly developed into project feasibility discussions, with UKdima being asked to provide a wire sawing cutting proposal for the mooring dolphin. From this UKdima were asked to source and supply a wire sawing system, with a spare parts package, along with diamond wire. In order to get operatives up to speed Ukdima were to provide training in Ireland. However this transpired to UKdima flying to Barbados to train personnel on site, giving a hands on approach. The mooring dolphin was to be cut into 20 tonne blocks for removal by the piling and demolition contractor. Ukdima also supplied to the site a Target Pro66 floor saw, floor saw blades and diamond core drills.
