When UKdima Limited was approached by their customer to assist them with this project we were only too happy to help. UKdima not only supplied the outline project programme and the scope of work presentation including CAD drawings and animations of the project, but also the wire sawing system, all diamond wire, and a full on-site support service. UKdima Limited was present at all the initial meetings with the customer, to help formulate a winning contract proposal. One of the advantages of UKdima’s involvement, was that Director, Millar Reid had formerly been employed in the power station as a Maintenance Engineer, giving an immediate insight into the project. The contract required the removal of six I.D. fan bases, inboard and outboard. The inboard base weighed approximately 95 tonnes and had to be removed in sections weighing no more than 20 tonnes.
